A 100 year old Dutch Colonial gambrel home located on the historically preserved list in Houston, Texas.

We initiated the project exploring two concepts, which facilitated the reality of an addition to the home. During the process, we relocated the front door to improve circulation throughout the house, and interestingly, we returned the front door to its original location.

Leading with the accumulation of details that held historical significance for both the city and the clients themselves. The final design emerged as a seamless blend of both initial concepts. This includes spacious counters, smart storage solutions, and striking aesthetic elements. The compromise reached not only enhanced the kitchen's beauty but also ensured functionality for daily living, resulting in a space that truly embodies the essence of home.
